The NCWE Team has expertise in: career pathways, employer engagement and sector strategies, developing and sustaining partnerships, apprenticeship, aligning programs with real-time labor market data, holistic student supports, addressing basic needs insecurity, braiding public and private funding, and an array of other topics germane to improving workforce education and training outcomes for people. 

Believing in the power of peer learning, the NCWE TA Team is also skilled at designing efficient, powerful peer learning convenings and strategy action labs. This dedication to centering student centered and practitioner-driven ideas, and elevating the expertise of our members and partners, is what sets us apart. We also recognize the value of partnering with other organizations who add depth and insight to the work, and welcome collaborative projects and initiatives.

As part of this initiative, NCWE convened a preconference roundtable at our Annual Conference: The Transformative Power of Community Colleges and the Future Role of Workforce Education. This session provided valuable insights to shape our new leadership development approach, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of community college workforce leaders.

NCWE’s reimagined leadership development strategy will support and develop transformative community college workforce leaders through a scalable model that expands reach and impact. This model will include both a cohort-based academy and open-access leadership learning opportunities for all members. Building on the success of the NWPA—which advanced knowledge and skills for emerging community college workforce professionals—the new approach will also address a critical gap in ongoing leadership development and peer learning workforce leaders at all points in their career who are seeking continuous, contextualized professional growth.

Our new leadership development programming will retain key elements of the NWPA that were valued by members: a focus on peer learning, mentorship, and professional networking that supports the growth and enhancement of individuals and our field.
